Map To Bury Metro Model Flying Club

From Bury take the A56 (Manchester Road/Bury New Road) towards Manchester.
At Besses junction (Junction Pub and McDonald’s) bear left onto Bury Old Road.
Go through the first set of traffic lights, past the Mercedes garage.
At the second set of traffic lights (no not pedestrian ones - real ones) turn left into Heywood Road.
Follow Heywood Road past the reservoir, go across the M66 then through Simister village
(please drive slowly and courteously), past the Farmer’s Arms on the left and look out for “Lady Wilton Hall” on the right.
Just after the hall turn left down a farm track, over the M62 and the flying field is in front of you.

From the M62 junction 17 take the A56 towards Bury but turn right immediately through a gap in the dual carriageway.
Follow the road round to a set of traffic lights and turn right.
You are now on Bury Old Road going past the Mercedes garage so you can now follow the directions above.

There is a dirt track which goes from Heywood Old Road (Bowlee/Birch Services) into Simister Village but you are not allowed to use this route during rush hour (7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm Monday to Friday).
